DISCOVER SWITZERLAND’S GRAND CANYON – THE RHINE GORGE!

Did you know that Switzerland has its own Grand Canyon? On this unique route, you’ll quickly understand why the spectacular Rhine Gorge has earned the nickname “Swiss Grand Canyon.”

Breathtaking mountain roads, charming villages, and awe-inspiring views attract cyclists from all over the world – especially in spring and autumn.

This classic local loop features around 1,000 meters of elevation gain and takes you on a journey around the impressive Swiss canyon. We begin by heading toward Tamins, passing through the picturesque village of Trin Dorf, then cross the Rhine and gently climb to Bonaduz. From there, a right turn takes us onto quiet gravel roads leading toward Versam. But before reaching the village itself, you’ll warm up with a pleasant 3.5 km climb at an average gradient of 3% – just enough to get your legs ready for the main ascent.

The climb to Versam winds through scenic switchbacks, with gradients reaching over 6% at times. Once you pass the village, you’ll be rewarded with a stunning descent all the way down to Ilanz. There, you can catch your breath before the final challenge – a nine-kilometer climb winding beautifully along the opposite side of the valley, all the way back to Flims.

This gravel route is a true feast for lovers of cycling and unforgettable landscapes. Join us and experience the thrill of Switzerland’s Grand Canyon for yourself!
